We Have a Seeking God Problem!

We don’t have a money problem, we have a seeking God problem!
I’m not ashamed to tell you right now that I am a blessed man.
I’m telling you right now I’m a prosperous man, and I’m not ashamed of it.
But here’s the key – I’VE NEVER GONE AFTER IT – that’s what you’ve got to understand.
I’ve never pursued having more money!!!!
Instead, I’ve spent the last 20 years of my life from the day I got saved, I’ve spent the last 20 years of my life renewing my mind and getting my soul prospering in the Word of God.
- Teaching my thoughts to submit to God’s thoughts.
- Teaching my words to submit to God’s words.
- Teaching my attitudes to submit to God’s attitudes.
And that has produced prosperity in my soul which has resulted in prosperity
and blessing and freedom not just in my finances but in every area of my life.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the
whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36
The greatest thing that you can invest in is the thing that has the greatest value.
And the asset that has the greatest value is your soul!!
Your soul has more value than money so don’t spend your time investing your life and your energy into chasing money. Spend your time pursuing God. Spend your time rightly diving the truth of His Word. Spend your time investing in your soul because your soul has greater value than money!
In order for us to prosper as our Father wants us to prosper, our souls must prosper. (3 John 2).
In order for our souls to prosper, God’s Word must dominate our lives. God’s instructions to us must be the absolute center of our lives. Everything that we think and say and do must revolve around his instructions to us.
True freedom is when you are free on the inside.
And when you are free on the inside, you will be free on the outside!
So the greatest asset that you have is your soul
You’ve got to take care of your soul.
You’ve got to feed your soul.
You’ve got to renew your soul.
Your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions.
You’ve got to get your soul to be in agreement with God’s Word!
And when you’re soul gets into agreement with God’s Word, now you are making decisions that are in alignment with God’s Word.
And now God’s Word living in your heart will produce prosperity.
You have to watch over your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life.
His Word grows mightily and prevails.
As you meditate on and renew your mind to the Word, and act on the Word, it overcomes every spiritual and natural obstacle that may come against you.
God’s Word is what causes us to have freedom.
God’s Word makes us free. His Word makes us prosper. His Word meets our needs.
So when our decisions are in alignment with the Word, now we are putting ourselves in a position to have financial freedom – and freedom in every other area of your life for that matter.
This covers every area of your life, but it starts with your soul being free, your soul being prosperous!!
You may be thinking, yeah but how do I make more money? I need to pay off my debts! I need to get caught up on my mortgage payments!!!!
Yes, but it starts with your soul being free, your soul being prosperous,
your soul being renewed – then we can talk about these other things……
We should invest our time seeking God, above all other things, according to Matthew 6:33.
2 Chronicles 26:5 says, As long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.
Psalm 34:10 says that they that seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.
- Is having all your bills paid a good thing?
- Is having all your needs met a good thing?
- Is having a great marriage a good thing?
- Is having a healthy body a good thing?
So again, we don’t have a money problem, we have a seeking the Lord problem.
Seeking God is what you have to replace seeking money with.
And when you seek the Lord, you will not be in want of any good thing.
When you seek God rather than seeking money, now he is going to meet all your needs.
So what should our 1st priority be? How should we spend our time?
We should spend our time seeking God and his kingdom!!!
What is his kingdom? His kingdom is his way of doing things.
I need to spend time learning God’s way of doing things or learning God’s system or God’s laws.
We need to spend our time learning how God’s laws operate!!
We’ve got to understand how to operate in God’s laws and spend time learning those laws because that is one of the reasons why we are having debt and financial problems is because we are living according to the world’s system or the world’s government or the world’s order of how to do things rather than God’s system, and God’s order, and God’s way of doing things.
Money itself cannot make you free. Instead, spend time in the Word because the Word will turn into freedom and will turn into financial provision because you won’t be under pressure to have more or to get more. It will come to you rather than you chasing it.
Seeking God is what you have to replace seeking money with.
Those that seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.
